Governance Committee
Description
The Governance Committee supports the CAWM Board of Directors in ensuring that the Association is governed in an effective and transparent manner. Tasks that the Governance Committee performs includes reviewing Terms of References of CAWM Committees, drafting and reviewing Board Policies, and other duties as assigned by the Board.
The Governance Committee can have 3 to 7 members, including the Chair. Committee members must be active members of CAWM.
The Governance Committee is chaired by the CAWM former President.
Chair: Dave Jerome
Capt, MD, MSc, CCFP, DMB, FAWMDave is a Family/ER Physician living in Kamloops BC. He works as a Medical Officer with the Canadian Armed Forces, and has deployed overseas with both the Army and the Navy. He has volunteered for over 10 years with Ground SAR teams in NS, NL and NWT, and he completed his Fellowship in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) in 2020. Dave was one of the co-founders of CAWM in 2020. Dave’s favourite outdoor activities include paddle sports, diving, orienteering, backcountry hiking and sport climbing.
