CAWM2025 Committee

Description

The Conference Planning Committee is responsible for the organization and communication surrounding the CAWM2025 conference on October 3-5, 2025 in Canmore, Alberta, Canada.

This 6th annual CAWM conference will be hybrid format (in-person and virtual) with pre-conference courses, lectures, social activities, a keynote speaker, workshops, and more! All wilderness medical professionals and learners are welcome including paramedics, nurses, SAR personnel, military, guides, ski patrollers, first responders, academics, and physicians.

We are excited to meet you in person, make connections, and learn together while advancing Wilderness Medicine in Canada!

Svea Brousseau - Committee Chair

BSN, RN

Svea was born in Behchokǫ̀, Northwest Territories and grew up in the Okanagan.

She is a Critical Care trained RN who works in both ICU and Emergency at Kelowna General Hospital, and enjoys rural contracts in Northern BC clinics and hospitals. Prior to nursing, Svea was a creative director and designer.

Svea is passionate about nature, hiking, backcountry skiing, and traveling.
